There’s always a Kodama or a Scampuss to lift your spirits along the way. Nioh 2 is filled to the brim with Yokai (demons), ninjas, mages, bandits, soldiers, and pretty much anything you can imagine that wants to split you open from stem to stern and eat your liver for breakfast. The game itself is a tough-as-nails “Souls-like” action RPG with a very steep learning curve – but to help out newcomers I’ve already put together a list of essential tips and tricks that you can find here. Set in the Warring States era of a fantasy-fueled Japan, this time around you play as a half-demon/half-human protagonist (called “Hide”) that you get to make with an incredibly deep character creator. In case you’re new to this franchise, Nioh 2 is a prequel/sequel to 2017’s Nioh from Team Ninja for the PS4. Must-buy kind of game for you, and if not – it’s a pass.
